I’m going to be honest. Working out isn’t my thing. My attention span isn’t great and walking or running without some form of entertainment makes the time drag on for hours. Lately, I’ve been getting into the TikTok trend of the 12-3-30 treadmill walk (click there to learn about what it is and where it originated). Surprisingly, I love it! It’s perfect for people first getting into working out and I have seen a massive improvement in stamina in just a few weeks.

A few ways I have been passing the time during my walks by listening to podcasts and have made the annoyance of working out severely lessened.

Here are my top 3 picks for podcasts to make your walk go by faster and keep you entertained.

  1. Anything Goes- Emma Chamberlain

From Q&As, life advice, and a deeper dive into who Emma Chamberlain is herself, many of Emma’s fans will find a comforting voice within this podcast. It keeps me entertained, interested, and wanting to be friends with her in real life… seriously… Emma, pls.

2. Deux U

If you’re not following @Deuxmoi on Instagram already, I don’t know what to say. For a short rundown, Deuxmoi is an anonymous page that posts celebrity gossip and sightings. The account posts daily and continuously break stories about celebrity breakups and much more before news outlets. Similar to her Instagram page, the podcast Deux U takes a deeper dive into some takes and questions their validity. If you are into gossip, this is the podcast for you.

3. The Orange Tree

This podcast, produced in 2020, was actually made by alumni from my college. As it was a local crime to me, it hit home and was extremely moving, upsetting, and scary. For my true crime girlies, this is a must-listen. While I find a lot of True Crime podcasts to be exploitative towards victims, this is one of my favorite podcasts due to the fact it portrays the crime with sensitivity, care, respect, and thorough research.

Staying motivated can be difficult at times. With some good podcasts, it doesn’t have to be!

Hi! I'm Kristin, an Advertising Sophomore at UT Austin with a passion for film, beauty, and writing. To be honest, the peak of my writing career was in 4th grade as the head editor of the school newspaper (lost in time unfortunately). When I'm not writing, you'll find me on Spotify curating my perfect Taylor Swift crying playlist.
