5 Healthy Ways to Keep Yourself Motivated This Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pace chapter.

As a college student. a.k.a freshman, I’m somewhat prepared for what to expect in the future of midterms, exams, quizzes, and FINALS. I know some freshman (*meaning me*) may be trembling in their boots as they struggle to keep a level head, remember material, complete assignments, and so on. But, from my POV, I’ve come up with some activities to help you succeed this Fall semester.

Let’s get into it!

  • Study Groups

Study groups can be useful to both you and your group of friends. It almost makes you feel like you’re never alone since there’s always someone going through the same thing you are. As a result, study groups, going over material, and quizzing one another can help you both socially and academically.

  • Yoga

I can’t stress this enough: try yoga! Yoga may be used as a stress reliever, allowing all your muscles to relax through breathing exercises, releasing tension, calming the mind, and much more! Meditation and yoga poses have also been scientifically proven to benefit your mental health.

  • Adequate Sleep and Naps

Clearly! Sleep is useful to your mental health and health in general. It helps us recharge and prepare for the next day. Even small “cat naps” during the day are A OKAY. To be fully rested and motivated, I recommend getting at least 8 hours of sleep each night. It’ll make a significant difference in your day.

  • Organization

Being organized keeps you in a better state of mind. Having everything in one place allows you to not only be prepared, but also to set yourself up for success. To keep track of due dates, tests, and homework, I recommend using a digital or paper planner and/or calendar.

  • Time Management

College work may make you feel as though you’ll never be able to catch your breath, but believe me when I say that you will. You’ll be able to incorporate some time for yourself, whether it’s a hobby, unwinding, or simply hanging out with friends and family, if you have time scheduled out of the day. FYI: Don’t forget to take care of yourself!

Each and every one of these can help in any sort of way. So go ahead and try one or all of them; you will not be sorry. trust me. I wish all you setters a successful and healthy semester!
