The week before the new school year started, my family and I decided to take a quick three day trip down to Arizona. As first-timers, we wanted to see everything. We did a variety of activities ranging from shopping in Scottsdale’s Fashion Square mall to doing a morning yoga flow in Sedona’s vortex. With so little time, we tried our best to make the most of it. With that being said, here are the top three places I would recommend:
Cathedral Rock Trail Hike
Cathedral Rock hike is 100% worth it. Not only are the views incredible, but the hike itself is a fun one to do. With the hike only being about 1.5 miles, it is a short, but difficult hike for the average person. I don’t consider myself an experienced hiker but it was still achievable. I would recommend wearing hiking shoes, as there are several points throughout the hike where you may need to climb and scramble. If you like that sort of activity I would 10/10 recommend doing this hike and bringing lots of water with you!
Chapel of the Holy Cross
If you’re looking for a beautiful spot to take photos and see spectacular views, Chapel of the Holy Cross is an amazing place to add to your list. When you arrive, you are surrounded by gorgeous canyon walls and you are even able to walk up to the actual chapel. This chapel is unlike no other, as it was built in the buttes. This sight is heavily trafficked, but it is still worth it if you can find parking!
Uptown Sedona
After a long day of exploring, uptown Sedona is a nice spot for a relaxing evening walk. There are art galleries, shops, beautiful architecture, and many restaurants to pick from. At night, especially, this is the spot to be. You can see people walking around or eating their food while watching the sun set behind the buttes.
