20 Things Not to Beat Yourself Up About #CMU Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CMU chapter.

Sometimes it’s easy to be our own worst critics.  But with the stress of exams, projects, essays, extracurriculars, and everything else we’re trying to balance (sleep? managing to see your friends sometimes?) it’s okay to cut yourself some slack.  In fact, we encourage it.

So without further ado, here are twenty things not to beat yourself about #CMU edition.

1. If your last ten meals were from the Underground because it was too cold to go outside

2. If you considered it a “sign” to take a day off exercising because all of the treadmills were taken

3. If you took the walk of shame at noon because you were too lazy to wake up at a less conspicuous hour

4. If you bought the vegetarian option not because it was healthier, but because it was cheaper

5. If you dropped a StuCo because it interfered with Wing Night at Will Penn

6. If you posted a selfie to celebrate posting a selfie

7. If you wore bikini bottoms because you ran out of clean underwear

8. If you and 20 other people are using the same Netflix account

9. If you don’t count the calories when it was food you mooched off a friend

10. If you made a “study” date with no intention of studying the textbook

11. If you count how many weeks it’s been since you’ve last shaved your legs when it’s winter (long hair, don’t care!)

12. If you watch Jenna Marbles religiously and strangely start adopting her mannerisms

13. If you cancelled your Hulu Plus account because the free trial was over

14. If you joined buggy because your crush was on the team

15. If you use your freshman friends to order Vocelli’s on Dinex

16. If you wear sweats on Mondays despite what Gretchen Wiener decided

17. If you’re on the d-list for twelve clubs you’re not a part of, but you’re too lazy to unsubscribe

18. If the only thing keeping you going on a long school night is your 1 a.m. trip to Entropy

19. If Tumblr memes understand you more than real people do

20. If you accidentally passed out on a Friday night instead of going out like a real person
