The idea of standing on a longboard and using a stick to push and move yourself forward seems odd and quite frankly hilarious; but Land Paddling is the up-coming trend for exercising and as a fun hobby! It’s inspired from SUP (Stand-up Paddling) and is spreading from Florida to the rest of the world’s roads – literally – with fans including Jennifer Anniston.
Whether you skateboard in everyday life, take part in SUP or enjoy surfing the waves – perhaps not in Notts – Land Paddling is a great substitute, guaranteed to keep you in shape and accessible for everyone; and, as it helps to increase your stability, you can use your skateboard, mountain board or basically any board you have experience with and feel comfortable riding. Even those who have never tried it before, it’s time to ditch cycling and try out this new activity!
Using the gym will be a thing of the past, as the essential longboard and Kahuna Big Stick can help you tick off two things at once – getting to where you need to be whilst resembling movements as if you were on a cross trainer: now that’s the definition of multi-tasking; and Land Paddling doesn’t stop there in sculpting your body. It targets and strengthens your core, shoulders, upper body, arms and legs – I really don’t think it misses anything.
With beginners classes are slowly spreading around the UK, you can join the avid amount of people who are starting to surf the streets.
(If this is the instructor, I can’t think of a reason to ignore a taster session)…
So what’s not to like about this exciting, enjoyable exercise that even gives your body a workout? With Christmas creeping around the corner too, it’s the perfect excuse to update your list and ask Santa for the equipment.
Soon, you’ll be the one to set the trend when you ride into a lecture with a personalized longboard and long pole knowing you’re looking cool and keeping fit throughout the day.
