5 Benefits of Hiring a Personal Trainer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UW Stout chapter.

1. Instruction

A personal trainer teaches you the proper way to perform exercises and handle equipment. They often demonstrate how to do the action and then watch you do it so that they can help you correctly preform the movement. This will help you get the most of your exercise and prevent you from getting injured by improperly using equipment.

2. Personalized Workout

Personal trainers create specialized workouts for clients. You tell them what your goals are and they can help you achieve them. If you are training for a marathon you will be given a different routine versus bodybuilding. This allows you to target exactly what you want to do by using the knowledge of somebody who knows how to get there.

3. Accountability

Personal trainers help keep you accountable. It is easy to jus not go to the gym because you don’t feel like it. However, if you have a session with a personal trainer then you are likely to go. Otherwise, it would be a waste of money. It gets you motivated to get up and go to the gym.

4. Sports Training

If you are training for a specific sport personal trainers are useful. Whether you are an athlete or participating in intramurals, personal trainers know what plans are best for the sport you are participating in. They will help build up your speed, endurance, and technical skills.

5. Results

Personal trainers will help you achieve the results you are looking for. Whether it is weight loss, training for a sport, or just wanting to live a healthier lifestyle. They will help you make goals, keep you accountable, and get you to where you want to go.

University Recreation

What are students saying about Personal Trainers at Stout?

Brandon Laufenberg: “I like it because you’re working with someone who will push you to be the best you without pushing you too hard to the point of injury.”

Savannah Schneider: “My personal trainer made me feel comfortable in a setting (the gym) that I normally didn’t feel welcome.”

I am a freshman attending the University of Wisconsin Stout. My major is Professional Communication and Emerging Media with a concentration in Applied Journalism. I am from a small town in Southeast Wisconsin. I love everything and anything Disney. Recently, I have gotten into RunDisney. It brings my love of Disney together with living a healthier lifestyle. After college, I hope to obtain a job with Disney, preferably in the RunDisney division.
