Are your apartment’s dark gray walls and 40-year-old carpeting killing your vibe? Want to give your new place a makeover, but are afraid of the expense that comes with it? Don’t fret, Collegiettes: we’ve got you covered. Here are a few simple and budget-friendly ways to bring your apartment from drab to fab.

1. Brighten up any room with some faux flowers.

Faux flowers bring life to your apartment! Just put them in a vase or go green and recycle a glass bottle. Bonus: they never die and won’t drain your wallet.

2. Real flowers do the trick, too!

Go on a nature walk, or visit your backyard, and pick some wildflowers! Place them in a mason jar with a bit of water for a chic and rustic centerpiece.

3. Bring the outdoors inside!

Sadly, summer is coming to an end. However, there are benefits from this sunny season’s departure. And by benefits, I mean SUMMER CLEARANCE SALES! Check out the clearance racks for eccentric lawn ornaments to decorate bare shelves with, or bring patio furniture into your kitchen! I found this white vintage garden cafe table and two chairs at Big Lots for just $32!

4. Find adorable and affordable seasonal decorations at the dollar store!

Most dollar stores carry super cute seasonal decorations. The best part? Everything is only $1!

5. Check out discount department stores such as T.J. Maxx or Marshall’s.

T.J. Maxx and Marshall’s both carry super stylish name brands at discounted prices. You might have to do a little digging, but you’re highly likely to find a quirky treasure for a sweet price.
