This is a photo of three tetrahymena cells I took in my cell biology class. Tetrahymena are single celled organisms commonly found in freshwater lakes, ponds, and puddles. To take this photo I added a dye to the tetrahymena that indicates acidity, green being more neutral and red being the most acidic, then under a florescent microscope they light up beautifully!Â
