Summer seems to have flown by us once again and with fall semester knocking on our doors, it is good to reflect on the season and understand summers’ biggest lessons:

1. Live In The Moment:

It always feels so refreshing to put responsibilities aside and take in the present. Summer is a great reminder of how important it is to take things in fully and bit by bit rather than always worrying about things that are out of your immediate control. Stressing too much about the future truly robs you of the present moment and the people you share it with. Make the most of every moment that comes your way!

2. Say Yes To New Opportunities:

Learning to say yes can take your life in new directions you never expected. Being open to what life brings your way always helps you grow as an individual and furthers your understanding of the person you want to be. Some experiences are just far too great to pass up, but you never know what you may be saying no to! The most unexpected things always turn out to be the most memorable moments of your life.

3. Make Self Care a Priority:

Making sure your overall well being is always a priority but it is easier said than done. Having a few less educational responsibilities during the summer makes that much easier than during the school year. We can all attest to how great it is to take care of ourselves and to set time aside to check in with ourselves. To succeed in all areas, keep up with your self-care!

4. Spend Time Outdoors:

Getting yourself to spend time outside is one of the best ways to clear your mind and boost your mood. Enjoying what your surroundings have to offer and caring for what’s around you is a great way to ground yourself after any rough situation. During summer, being outside is much easier, but keeping up with that throughout the year is ideal. Even a short walk with a friend can change your mindset.

5. Let Go Of Things Holding You Down:

Keeping things in your life that do not benefit your well being is never healthy. It is not worth putting more effort into relationships than you are getting out of them. The freedom and positivity of the summer season reminds us to look for and keep only the good. People and habits that contribute to negativity in your life are not worth it. Always put your best self first!
