If you’re a crystal freak like I am, I’m sure the first thought that pops in your head when you know you’ll soon be put in an anxiety inducing situation is, “what crystal should I wear?” I am constantly put in anxiety inducing situations, simply because I’m a very anxious person as it is. But, when I know I’m really going to be pushing my limits, I always wear a crystal—or sometimes even a couple at a time. Just knowing I have this precious stone with me that I can squeeze during my anxious moments helps me manage. If this is you, too, here’s a list of my favorite stones to use for anxiety that you should add to your anxiety-calming crystal collection.

Sodalite

Sodalite promotes rational thought and keeps your mind from going all over the place, especially when your anxiety is high and your mind is going a hundred miles per hour. It also restores emotional balance and can calm panic attacks and relieve phobias. This is my favorite stone to use to soothe my anxiety. I carry this with me when I know I have a presentation or interview going on that day.

Lepidolite

This is one of the few stones that actually contains lithium, an element often used in antidepressant medications. This makes lepidolite a great stone to carry for anyone suffering from depression and anxiety, alike, because it will produce a calming aura around you and ease your tension.

Blue Lace Agate

This stone is particularly good for public speaking, as it helps you articulate your thoughts in a positive, calm and eloquent manner. With this stone on your body, you’ll find it a bit easier to reprogram your thoughts and reactions—basically helping you sort through those jumbled anxious thoughts during a presentation. Blue Lace Agate is also known for relieving anxiety based around rejection and judgment.

Amethyst

Ah, yes. Amethyst. The most well-known calming stone. Aside from it’s ability to ward off nightmares if a piece is placed underneath your pillow, it’s also wonderful for relieving stress and anxiety. Amethyst can help clear your mind of negative thoughts and produce a positive thinking pattern, as well as regulate mood swings.

Hopefully you’re now inspired to add at least one of these stones to your growing collection! I know, because I can speak from experience, that if you’re dealing with anxiety, sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the ruminating thoughts and worries, but just try your best to remind yourself that it is most likely not as bad as your mind is making it out to be. You can get through it, whatever it may be. Just take it in strides with your new stone by your side.
