Fun Activities to Help You De-Stress

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at URI chapter.

With most schools canceling spring break this semester, it can be hard to find time for yourself. Your focus may be solely on your schoolwork, which can lead you to feel overwhelmed. I think all of us need to set time aside for ourselves and practice some self-care. Here are my favorite ways to de-stress during the semester.

1. Watch Your Favorite Movie

Sometimes you just need an escape from the real world for a few hours. Watching a movie is a perfect way to do this. So grab your comfort movie, make some popcorn, and have a little movie night just to yourself!

2. Bake

Baking can be a great way to de-stress. Especially when you play some music and dance around the kitchen. Your hard work will pay off in the end once you get to eat your yummy creations! Dancing around and eating? Sign me up!

3. Have a Self Care Night

After a hard and long day, take a hot shower and wash away all the stress. Put on a face mask and give yourself a mani-pedi! The ultimate spa night is enough to make anyone happy!

4. Read a Book

Reading can be really fun when you are not obligated to do it for school. Just like watching a movie, it can be a really great way to escape from the real world. It is a magical feeling when you get lost in the words of a book and explore new worlds!
