I Love My Dog

We all love our pets, and as someone who has a dog, I often say I love her.

I say those four words a lot, but I will say it again: I love my dog. I say those words because I truly mean them. In fact, when asked what my most prized possession is, I actually say my dog. But for a long time, I have wondered why this has been the case.

Now, I want to dig deeper into the many reasons why I love my dog.

I was recently scrolling through my photo album and found countless pictures of her. Whether it was when she was just a baby, a Halloween picture of her in her pumpkin costume, or a photo of her lying down and sunbathing outside, to say that I love her is just an understatement.

Whenever I’m having a bad day, and I come home, my dog always greets me by coming straight up to me; I then get on her level, pet her, and kiss her. She is truly so precious to me, and her love and affection towards me turn my worst days into my best.

My dog also seems to understand me; she is very smart. She knows when I’m happy and when I can play with her. She enthusiastically joins in on the playful mood when I pick up one of her toys.

When I am sad, crying on the couch, or just stressed, she comes over immediately to sit right next to me and keeps me in good company. In my family, we like to say that our dog is very emotionally smart and picks up on our moods very quickly and easily.

That kind of ability to understand me is something rare, and one of the key reasons why I love her so much. She just knows how to interact with me really well!

For all of these reasons, and more, saying that I love my dog is an understatement; I love her with all my heart, and she is my most prized possession.

Sending all the love to your dogs, too!
