What I’m Looking Forward To During The Summer

With only two weeks left in the semester, summer is just around the corner. With around three and a half months to relax and soak up the summer sun, here’s a list of things that I have planned with my friends and that I’m looking forward to!

New York City trip

One of my best friends’ birthday is coming up in May, and it’s her 21st! She’s the last one to turn 21 in my friend group, so we all decided to make it super memorable for her. Last summer, we went on a girls’ trip to New York City, and we all enjoyed it so much that we vowed to return the next summer (which is this upcoming summer). We decided on May because then the trip could double as a birthday trip for my friend. I’m super excited to spend time with my friend group and celebrate my friend’s birthday in New York City! Since we all go to different colleges, I don’t get to see them often, so I’m looking forward to seeing them again!

Las Vegas trip

My friend group and I are huge fans of The Weeknd and his music, so when we saw that he was going on tour, we were so excited! After agreeing that we should go to his concert, we were debating on which city we should go to in order to attend. As a joke, one of my friends said Vegas, and on a whim, we all answered yes. All of us have never been to Vegas before, so we meant it when we said we were willing to go there for the concert. So we booked our concert tickets, our flight tickets, our hotel rooms, and we were all set for Vegas in July!

Spending time with family

As an out-of-state student, there are many pros to being in a completely different environment. However, there are also many cons to being so far from home, like never getting to see my family. I am a very family-oriented person, so coming to college was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do. But during the summer, I finally get to spend time with my parents, hang out with my brother, and do all of the fun things with them that I miss out on during the school year.

Catching up on my favorite movies and shows

During the school year, I’m so busy that I don’t even have time to sit down and relax. So catching up on new seasons of shows is definitely out of the question. However, with no school work to do during the summer, I’m looking forward to just kicking back and catching up with everything that I’ve missed during the school year!

Although there are so many more things that I’m looking forward to during the upcoming summer, these are just a few. Although the school year is fun, sometimes summer is just what you need to kick back and relax.
