Things I want to do in my last semester of college

With my last semester of college approaching, I have been reflecting on what I want to accomplish and do before I leave Michigan State University (MSU). Four years of college can fly by and it’s easy to get wrapped up in your routine, it’s hard to make time for trying new things. In my last semester, I want to focus on making time for new memories. Here’s a list of the things I would like to do as a Spartan before graduating.

Attend More Sporting Events

Going to sporting events is fun itself but going as a student and rooting for your school is the best experience. It’s how you bond with your peers and make memories with your friends. So far, I have attended a handful of football games and a couple baseball games.

Every year, I have purchased season football tickets and I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. However, with MSU being a big ten school with Division 1 athletics there are so many more sporting events to attend. A couple that are on my list are hockey and gymnastics. With MSU hockey ranking at number four in the NCAA, the team is having a great season. I have always heard of the hype of the hockey games but never got to experience it for myself. Same with gymnastics ranking at number 14. I heard gymnastics meets are fun because you can watch several competitions at once to hold your attention. Additionally, I want to attend more basketball games. My love for the sport has really grown while watching the Spartans play.

Take a Photo With Sparty

This is a funny one, but I know looking back I would regret not having a photo with the iconic Sparty. MSU spirit and tradition is represented in Sparty as the mascot attends nearly every campus event, especially the more high profile ones. Out of all the photos I have taken while at MSU, I know I would cherish this one.

Try More Restaurants on Grand River

There are a couple restaurants I have yet to try on Grand River. With there being so many restaurants in East Lansing and Lansing the options are endless. However, there are some restaurants that are talked about more than others, such as Charlie Kang’s and University Weiner. I have yet to try either of these restaurants but I have heard they are very good. I would also like to go to a karaoke night at Crunchy’s restaurant. My goal is to get all my roommates to go because I think we would have the best time.

Attend a Workout Class at IM West

I was today years old when I found out that IM West has workout classes that students can attend. They have spin classes, yoga, pilates, and more – and they are all free. I am a big fan of workout classes because they get you moving and you feel so accomplished when you’re done. I love trying new things, especially workouts, so this is the perfect opportunity to find what ones I like. In the spring, I am going to make working out and trying new classes a priority.

Spring semester is going to fly by, but hopefully with these ideas in mind I can accomplish everything and be present during my last semester as Spartan. I am so excited for what is ahead!
