Whether you’re a first-year or you’ve been at UVM for four years, you may not be aware of all of the fitness options available on campus. There’s so much to choose from, including exercise classes, personal training, and instructional recreation. Following the same workout routine can get boring, check out some of these options to avoid a fall semester slump and keep it interesting and fun!

1.     Group Exercise Classes

Is Zumba your thing? Interested in kickboxing? Looking to get back into yoga? Well, look no further. UVM offers classes in all of these and more. Group exercise classes are held in the Campus Recreation Studio, Gutterson 217 Multipurpose, and Patrick 217 Multipurpose. They’re also held throughout the year, including during summer and winter breaks! So, if you’re in the area and want to catch a spin class, you definitely can. A schedule for the classes being offered during the Fall 2015 semester can be found at: http://www.uvm.edu/~recspts/shared/groupfitscheduleI.pdf

Remember to bring your UVM ID or Campus Recreation membership card to be admitted!

2.     Personal Training

If you’re looking to work with a trainer and get back into shape, the Iron Cat Personal Training Program is for you! Have questions? Stop by the office in the fitness center during drop in hours. You can also call 802-656-7713 or shoot an email to personaltraining@uvm.edu. More information regarding drop in hours, personal training options, and cost can be found at: http://www.uvm.edu/~recspts/?Page=fitness/personaltraining2011.html&SM=fitnesssubmenu.html

3.     Instructional Recreation

Instructional Recreation is a series of workshops designed to learn new methods of exercise and develop what you have learned each week. For information about the program, call 802-656-7713 or email fitness@uvm.edu. Additional information can be found at: http://www.uvm.edu/~recspts/?Page=fitness/instructionalrec/instructionalrec.html&SM=fitnesssubmenu.html
