Spring has sprung! Even though break is around the corner, you still have plenty of time to get your beach body ready for this summer! But who wants to work out in the gym when the weather is so nice out? Here are 5 quick and easy exercises you can do anywhere, from a park to right here on campus. The best part is, all you need is a bench!

1. Step Ups

Stand facing the bench.

Place one foot onto the bench and explode up bringing your opposite knee up to a 90° angle.

Carefully return to both feet on the ground and repeat, alternating exploding sides each time.

2. Triceps Dips

Position your hands shoulder length apart on the bench.

Slide your butt off the bench while extending your legs out.

Bend your elbows and “dip” to about a 90 degree angle.

Push up to straighten arms and returning to the original position.

Repeat

3. Squats

Stand directly in front of the bench facing away.

Squat down until your butt touches the edge of the bench.

Hold for one second then stand up straight.

Repeat

4. Lunges

Stand directly in front of the bench facing away.

Place the top of one foot back on the bench.

Place hands on hip to keep balance.

Bend both knees so the knee not on the bench reaches a 90 degree angle.

Extend legs so the leg on the ground is straight.

Repeat 10 times.

Switch legs and repeat.

5. Standing Push Ups

Face bench and place hands on the bench about shoulder length apart.

Both legs should extend to be straight with feet firmly planted on the ground.

Bend arms to 90 degree angles.

Hold for a moment before extending arms to become straight again.

Back should be even this whole time with butt down.

Repeat.

Don’t forget to get your cardio in by running around with all the dogs in the park!
