17 Signs You’ve Conquered College by Sophomore Year

As sophomores, we are no longer the babies of college to either be coddled due to the very hard transition of high school to college but neither are we picked on for being completely inexperienced. Sophomores are calm, cool and collected and we live by the motto: “Been at the library for an all nighter, done a 10 page essay hours before it was due and wore the T-Shirt we got on orientation day.” While we are not at all ready to go out into *gulp* the real world, we are still excited to be able to teach the freshmen what we wish we knew just one year ago, while also making sure that we still learn from the upperclassmen!

1. Instead of asking for directions on campus, you’re giving them

2. College romance isn’t always for everybody

3. You know the best food places both off and on-campus

4. We don’t always have time to read every text — that’s why skimming was invented

5. Wearing a flannel is an easy way to appear dressed up

6. Netflix is your best friend

7. Hulu is your replacement BFF when you and Netflix are fighting

8. You know that not going to EVERY party on campus is okay

9. The messy bun is a way of life

10. Accidentally oversleeping is bound to happen at least once per semester

11. Getting sleep is a luxury

12. Registering for classes is as easy as A-B-C!

13. You learn your schedule as fast as you learn song lyrics

14. Going to bed around two in the morning is normal for you

15. You know that your school email inbox is always overflowing

16. When you go back home for break, you appreciate your family and the food

17. There’s not one day that goes by without you hearing, saying or seeing coffee

Sophomores forever (or until next year).
