Barbara Stevens, Head Women's Basketball Coach5/7/2012 |
HCB: How do you think you got to where you are today? The only way a coach can be successful is to surround her/him with talented, motivated student-athletes, and hardworking assistant coaches. It also helps greatly if the institution is supportive of the coaches’ efforts to build a successful program. Fortunately for me, we have those three components for success here at Bentley. |
Things We'll Buy When We're Rich4/28/2012 |
We all know money can’t buy happiness. We’ve been told that since we were little kids and that’s because it is, of course, true. However, right now we are in college, working our butts off to get good grades in order to get the job of our dreams. So, with finals right around the corner and the weather getting better and better every day, a little motivation to study for that Economics exam instead of playing cornhole on the Greenspace with your friends might be necessary. So hopefully something on this list will catch your eye and be just the inspiration you need to work hard enough to ace those finals.

Boston Marathon 20124/24/2012 |
The Boston marathon was last Sunday, and while the ninety degree weather may not have been favored by the runners, it just made the race that much more enjoyable for those of us on the sidelines! The truck signaling the first runners are coming! The women's leaders run through the 21st mile of the marathon. The men's leader at mile 21. A sea of people, runners and spectators alike! Our friend Molly on mile 21 of her first marathon! Bentley students cheering on the runners! |

Girls Night Out Clothes that Boost Confidence3/28/2012 |
In 2007, the breakup of future heir to the throne Prince William, and Kate Middleton shocked Europe. The young prince reportedly needed time to “be by himself” before settling down. Instead of curling up and disappearing from the public eye as she may have felt like doing after it seemed like she lost the most eligible bachelor in the world, Kate stepped out on her own and turned heads as Kate Middleton, not Prince William’s girlfriend. Her hemlines got higher, her tops got lower, but most importantly she looked completely confident in everything she wore… and the prince took notice. Everyone should take a hint from the future queen of England who proved that great style and CONFIDENCE is the key to gaining any guys attention and feeling great. Here are some perfect Girls Night Out outfit choices that will get the attention of every guy in the room when paired with the confidence, the best accessory you can possibly have. Simple Bright One-Colored Dress Make yourself stand out in a simple dress with bright shoes or big jewelry. A body hugging dress is a great way to accentuate your curves, and the bright color will make you hard to miss. Another plus, you can usually find them really cheap. [pagebreak] Little Black Dress |
What Do Bentley Guys Really Think?3/19/2012 |
As all of us Bentley collegiettes know, the fellas at our school tend to be a little different than most of the college guys we see around. They know more about the stock market than any twenty year old should, they are insanely competitive, (you’re gonna argue a call in coed intramural dodge ball, really?) and most important, they are not used to seeing large groups of females (Bentley ratio 60% male 40% female). I have gathered some insider information from four real, typical, Bentley campus cuties, and asked them their opinions on five topics that us lady falcons may be wondering. They may not all think exactly alike, but they all still answer the question: |
HC Bentley Staff: Biggest Fashion Risks2/25/2012 |
For our fashion themed week, we thought it would be fun to ask our HC Bentley staff what the biggest fashion risk they ever took was… and whether it was fabulous or fell completely flat! Our Collegiette staff weighs in: My biggest fashion risk was when I was younger and I got my hair cut in a bob style to my chin. It was definitely not a success because it didn’t complement the shape of my face and I hated it until it grew out again. My biggest fashion risk was adopting skinny jeans back in 2008 when they were first starting to get popular. I was the first of my friends to start wearing them and it was weird, but now I don’t own anything else! It turned out to be a great decision on my part. In high school, probably around sophomore year I chopped off all my hair trying to pull off a chic bob cut and it was the worst decision ever. I was not devoted enough to the haircut and I couldn't spend that much time styling it every morning. And back then I had even thicker hair than I have now, so it just looked so awkward. Growing it out was painfully slow, but recently I've been thinking about getting it all cut off again. So I guess I haven't really learned my lesson! |
