Situationships Romantically Rage-Bait You: Here Are 21 Questions To Rage-Bait Them Back

The typical situationship: it’s a canon event. They “forget” to reply for three hours, then post a story. They roast your music taste, call you dramatic, and somehow you’re still the one who ends up texting first. If you’ve been on the receiving end of romantic rage-bait lately, it’s time to take the power back. After all, two can play that game. And with these rage-bait questions for your situationship, it’s simpler than ever.

Now, I’m not saying you have to start an actual fight (OK, maybe a tiny one), but catching your situationship off-guard and seeing what happens is incredibly telling. Maybe they laugh, maybe they argue back, maybe they block you after. Or, perhaps, you end up learning more about them than you ever expected.

As for timing? That choice is up to you. Drop one at your next “casual meet-up,” mid-scroll on FaceTime, or send one over text right after they’ve left you on read for an hour. IMO, the less context, the better, and bonus points if you keep a completely straight face. Whether it’s a crush, a situationship, or a full-on significant other, here’s how to give it right back.

21 Rage-Bait Questions For Your Situationship:

  1. If we were both in a horror film, who’s dying first — and why is it you?
  2. If you got a pet and it hated me, which one of us would you rehome?
  3. If I got famous, would you tell people you knew me first, or pretend you didn’t?
  4. Rank me, your best friend, and your phone. Be honest.
  5. Whose jollof would win, mine or your auntie’s?
  6. What’s my best trait that isn’t my looks? You have five seconds.
  7. Out of 10, how good do you think your rizz is?
  8. Why did you take three hours to reply but had time to post a story?
  9. Name someone hot. You have three seconds, so choose wisely.
  10. Why do you think you’re funny?
  11. Is splitting the bill on a first date romantic or a red flag?
  12. Should whoever’s late have to pay for the drinks?
  13. Would you survive one week in a group chat with my friends?
  14. Are socks with sandals ever acceptable on a date?
  15. Am I the main character in your life, or are you a side character in mine?
  16. If I rated your outfit right now, what do you think I’d give it?
  17. What are we? Answer in under ten words.
  18. Would you put me on close friends or your main story?
  19. If I started talking to someone else tomorrow, how long do you think it would take you to notice?
  20. Do you think I’d be a partner and why?
  21. Why do you like me? And no, “you’re funny” doesn’t count.

At the end of the day, the person rage-baiting you probably isn’t trying to make you mad. They just want your attention, and now you’ve got theirs. So have fun with it, and don’t take a single answer too seriously. Every unhinged reply is just one more thing you’ve learned about them.
