Lose the Freshman 15: Beach Inspired Workout

Hey Ladies!

Tomorrow marks the first official day of beach season! Well, for me at least. It’s suppose to be 80 degrees and beautiful here on the east coast tomorrow, so I’ll be packing up my bag and heading to the jersey shore!

Being in the summer spirit, I’ve decided to pack my Self Drop 10 approved lunch, my awesome New Balance kicks, and round up some awesome moves for a beach inspired workout tomorrow. Check out what I found below!

Beach Runs
via Active

Go out into the water until you are about knee-deep. From there run 40-yard to 100-meter dashes. The resistance of the water will really challenge you. Repeat four to six times at various distances or alternate between 30 and 60 seconds.

Sand Skip
via Men’s Health

Skip forward, jumping and landing on the same foot, while working to leap as high as possible. Do five skips on each leg. Repeat five times.

Crab Squat Walk
via Angeles Burke

Start with your feet shoulder width apart. Drop down so that your thighs are parallel to the group. Hold that position while taking 12 steps forward and 12 steps back. The lower you remain the more you will work your glutes.

Box Sprints
via Dru Barrios

Set up two markers in the sand. Sprint from the first to the second. Facing the first marker, shuffle right eight times. Turn so you’re facing the second marker and job backwards to the first.  Finally facing the second marker shuffle right eight times. Repeat as many times are you can.
