Slow Down Your Feed By Following These Mindfulness Pages On IG

I have an on and off again relationship with social media. Connecting with my faraway family and friends is great, but the constant pixel-perfect feeds from influencers? Not so much. Since I’m not ready to give up Instagram, I’ve learned to monitor my relationship with it. For me, that looks like only following accounts that add to my life instead of taking away from it. My favorite creators to follow are mental health advocates, poets, short-story writers, yogis, meditation teachers, and therapists.

Following these well-being accounts has literally upended my feed for the better. Where there used to be productivity carousels and “that girl” guides, there are now box-breathing reels and boundary-setting reminders. With less of a focus on influences that prioritize appearances and accomplishments, I can put my attention toward those who actually bring me joy. From interacting with mental health memes to discovering new ways to cope with the stress of everyday life, I can’t get enough of my refreshed feed.

The best part is that it’s a life hack that just keeps giving. Following mindfulness accounts slows down the pace of your social media experience, connects you to similar influencers, and allows you to actually digest the tips and tricks you’re reading. The feeling of having a clean feed is everything and I imagine it feels like to live in a Pinterest farm girl collage; like a breath of fresh air after being cooped up for so long.

So, if you’re considering the switch, I have made a simple and non-stressful list of mindfulness pages for you to follow. And while you’re browsing my picks, maybe put on your headphones and listen to one of Jhené Aiko’s albums to get into the laid-back mood.
