Lose the Freshman 15: Healty Memorial Day Weekend Drinks

Hello Collegiettes!

Happy Weekend!! So excited for this three day weekend! I am in Newport Beach, California for my best friend’s birthday celebrating with some friends.  It has been so rainy and dreary in Eugene, so the sun is much needed!  This weekend, I am planning on being active and eating healthy (went protein style on an In-N-Out Burger – still good) but focusing on relaxing and enjoying time with friends. 

Right now, we’re enjoying the sun and drinking a pomegranate and Perrier cocktail.  May be a little vodka.  Maybe.  But Happy Calories are all part of the Self Drop 10, so that’s allowed ;).  

Anyways! I know a lot of you are probably having BBQ’s, so here are two skinny cocktails from SELF Magazine:

Watermelon Champagne Cocktail:

Makes 6 servings

  • 5 Cups seedless watermelon cubes
  • ¼ cup fresh mint leaves, crushed
  • ½ cup vanilla-infused vodka, chilled
  • ¼ cup Triple Sec
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 3 cups of Champagne chilled
  • Watermelon cubes and lime slices

Pomegranate Spritzer: (had this yesterday…delicious)

Makes a big pitcher!

  • 2 Cups of Pomegranate Juice
  • 1.5 Cups of San Pelligrino (or club soda)
  • 1 Cup of Vodka
  • Ice Cubes


Both of these are so good and refreshing.  Plus a little fruit, antioxidants, right?!
