We’re Forecasting Our Top Spring Style Trends RN, Because We’re Sick of Cold Weather, Okay?

We’re just as done with the cold weather as you are — like, Mother Nature, can we move on to warmer days or what? Our hands are sick and tired of freezing as we hold our iced coffee. The point is, layering our clothes has been fun, but I think we can all agree that it’s time to break free from wearing layers to avoid catching a cold in these Siberian temperatures.

To be fair, the days are getting longer. And, you know what that means? Spring is almost here! As we begin our transition from one season to another, our wardrobes are going through it with us too. Go ahead and shove your parkas back into your coat closet. Don’t forget to ditch your bulky boots, okay? We’re here to tell you the must-have trends for this spring season — you’ll thank us later for our picks, trust us.

1. Balloon sleeves

We’re taking it all the way back to the 17th century. Call it old-fashioned (literally) all you want, but puffy sleeves are back and prettier than ever. Bella Hadid walked the Robert Cavalli show in a mustard yellow dress with the statement sleeves. We don’t have Bella’s bank account, so we found a dupe in sweater-form from Forever 21 ($17.90) that’s very much more college-friendly!

2. Denim on denim

Look, fashion is all about breaking the rules. Whoever decided that denim on denim was a crime just did not know how to make it stylish. But, no worries for you because we already picked out the cutest pair of paperbag jeans ($39) and denim jacket ($98) from Abercrombie. Chanel even made it a runway look, so it’s totally okay!

3. Hair barrettes and clips

These hair accessories were seen everywhere during New York Fashion Week. The duo is giving us all kinds of nostalgic feels. Remember when your mom would pin your hair back with a barrette? Same, girl, same. The Outlier has the prettiest array of barrettes and clips, and we’re SO in love!

4. Pleated skirts

Let’s all rejoice because we can finally wear skirts without our legs turning into icicles. Spring can still be pretty chilly, so we’re opting out for midi skirts (at least for now). You know we love some texture. But, how about this pleat and satin combo from ASOS ($34)? Now we’re definitely talking!

5. Dad sandals

First, we obsessed over dad sneakers. Now we’re making dad sandals the coolest shoes for spring. UGG dropped the chicest version ($100) of them. We’re not saying that you should get yourself a pair ASAP, but we’re also saying that you must have a pair to add to your spring wardrobe!

6. Cargo pants

Sure, we’ve given the boys such a hard time for still wearing cargo pants to this day. But, like cargo pants for girls? A concept. Head over to Urban Outfitters for neutral-colored cargos ($69) or check out I.AM.GIA’s selection of them! As much as we love to live in our leggings, baggy pants are the wave right now.

7. Tie-dye

This is the most affordable trend to be on our list. Yes, tie-dye is now high fashion, but don’t let Balmain take all your money. Literally, you can make your own tie-dye clothing — we love saving our bucks, am I right?

8. Embellished shoes

We’re really helping you one up your shoe game. What’s better than a pair of shoes as shiny and sparkly as the sun were about to enjoy more this season? Embellished high heels ready to make their way into everyone’s closet. According to WhoWhatWear, they’re definitely one of the shoe trends to follow this spring.

9. One-tone attires

When we think of one-tone outfits, groutfits come into mind, right? Move over grey on grey because now you can pull off pink on pink or any color ever, TBH. Take it from Zendaya, who not only wore an all-red ‘fit but also had a mint monochrome moment at Paris Fashion Week. If you’re a little intimidated, Harper’s Bazaar created a guide on how to rock this trend.

10. Feathery details

We saw a lot of fuzzy texture this winter, but we’re moving on to feathery details. Feathers are chic yet fun! Pretty Little Thing has us covered with this little back dress ($45) to this adorable clutch ($45).

12. Neon colors

Floral patterns and pastel colors are canceled — remember what the iconic Miranda Priestly once said? Slime green is the unofficial color of spring. We get it that it’s a bold color, but don’t we love making a fashion statement? The Zoe Report shows us how the color has evolved throughout the years.

Spring will be here before we know it. We love to plan ahead, so we’re giving you these style predictions to keep you a few steps ahead of the game. That’s what friends are for, right? Please, promise us you will NOT be caught still in your huge parkas and hefty boots.
