New season, new look. Florence Pugh, my personal style icon, took these words to heart. The Don’t Worry Darling star’s hair has undergone many changes lately, ranging from a brown pixie cut to a sleek blonde bob. Plus, Pugh debuted a new hairstyle at the Met Gala: a buzzcut. But Pugh isn’t the only celeb who’s been rocking a fresh ‘do. Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink was recently spotted with slicked-back short hair, and as to be expected, she’s killing it.
Pugh and Sink’s fabulous haircuts might be the start of a new summer trend. We know what hair colors to look out for this season — but what about styles? Taking a page from Pugh and Sink, it seems like short hair is the way to go. No more sweaty long hair sticking to your back in the July heat. While I may still be reluctant to chop mine off, these six looks might persuade me to do so.
- Curly Bob
If you’re in love with vintage glam or coquette, you should definitely give this hairstyle a go. For a romantic look, curl your chin-length hair at the ends. Keep the curls intact with a generous helping of hairspray, and voila! You’re red carpet ready.
- Sleek bob
Regardless of where you stand on Hailey Bieber, there’s no denying that she rocks a bob. Steal her style for the summer with this low-maintenance look. If you’re hesitant to go too short, a lob is a great way to make the transition.
- Bleached pixie mullet
“Pixie mullet” might not be the official name for this style, but whatever it’s called, it’s amazing. The Crown actor Emma-Louise Corrin looks effortlessly cool in their cut, with microbangs to die for. If you want to go the extra mile, bleach your hair to recreate Corrin’s look.
- Bobcat cut
Fans of Jenna Ortega are probably familiar with how her bobcat cut looks. It’s equal parts adorable and edgy, making it the perfect haircut for any personal style. Layer and fluff up your hair for that disheveled-yet-put-together vibe.
- Fresh buzz
- Flipped bob
Miss Flo, you’ve done it again. The flipped bob is a timeless classic, as well as an excellent choice for a summer cut. Make sure you have lots of gel on you at all times.
