This week, I’ll be reviewing a nail polish sample from a new brand called Poshinality.
A woman named Lily Michaelson, who works for Poshinality, reached out to me after she saw my review of the OPI Brazil Collection for the Beauty School blog. She told me more about the brand and asked if she could send me one color to review and sample.
According to the Poshinality website, the brand is “on a mission to inspire women globally to feel comfortable in their skin and appreciate the style diversity of women around them,” which they hope to do through its nail color, which “reflects individuality and style.”
The brand is 5-free, which means that there are no harmful toxins like dibutyl phthalate (DBP), toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin and camphor in the polish. It’s also vegan, so none of the polishes contain animal ingredients, and the company does not test on animals.
After learning more about Poshinality, Lily gave me a choice of three colors to choose from to sample. I decided to go with the color Girly Girl, since she mentioned it was pink, my favorite color.
To start, I enjoyed the bottle itself. I found the design appealing, and the bottle was easy to hold.
After I applied base coat, I opened the bottle to begin using the polish. As a self-proclaimed nail polish guru, I know within a minute if I like a nail polish or not. I absolutely loved the brush that comes with this nail polish, as it was easy to manuever, and I didn’t get much polish on the side of my nails.
I definitely had to apply two coats for the color to come through. After one coat, it looked too streaky and parts of the color were almost see-through. At the same time, I thought the polish was a bit too thick.

Overall, I think I would rate this polish a 6 out of 10. I wasn’t as pleased with the formula as I thought that I would be, but it’s not the worst, either. Additionally, I was offered only one color, so my opinions are based solely on this color.
I am definitely supportive of the brand’s mission and its staff was so pleasant, but at $9.50 per bottle, I’m not sure if I’ll be purchasing any of the polishes soon.
