Paige Bueckers’s WNBA Draft Outfits Featured A Viral Coach Bag

Former UConn Husky Paige Bueckers was officially the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft on April 14, joining the Dallas Wings. Just as exciting as her top draft moment, Paige Bueckers’s WNBA Draft outfits (yes, she had two of them) had fans losing it.

For Bueckers’s first look, she walked the carpet in New York in a custom-made, bedazzled Coach suit paired with chunky Coach loafers. She accessorized her look with a $695 black Large Kisslock Frame Bag, which is known for its elegance, spaciousness, and stunning colors. People were surprised over Bueckers’s accessory choice, considering most people opt for mini bags or dainty clutches on a red carpet. If you’re looking to match her look, the bag is unfortunately sold out but Coach says it will be restocked in July.

Buckers’s outfit was a fashion statement, and had symbolic meaning during her special moment. Her stylist Brittany Hampton told The New York Times, “Her draft day is her opulence moment.” Hampton said they were going for power dressing and bold elegance.

To everyone’s surprise, before the event aired on television, Bueckers opted for a striking outfit change. To switch things up (but still continue with her bold elegance aesthetic), the athlete changed into a chic all-black, low-neck pantsuit by Louis Vuitton, with a half-up, half-down hairstyle to go with it.

Bueckers said her second look was straight off the runway, and explained to B/R W Sports, “I think we thought the black would look good on stage, so had to do a little switch up.” It also looks like her signature double braids will be retiring this upcoming season. Bueckers explained to Sports Seriously, “I have to give my scalp a little break,” and said she’ll opt for either a classic slicked back ponytail or bun going forward.
