10 Outfit Ideas For Coachella That Give Serious Festival Inspo

Music festival season is finally here, and one of the biggest and highly-anticipated festivals is just weeks away – Coachella! Every year, music fans all over the world are anxious to see the best acts hit the stage and reminisce on past performances. From Beyonce’s incredible Beychella performance in 2018 or Ariana Grande’s spectacular set in 2019. For Coachella 2023, I can’t wait to see Frank Ocean finally return to the stage. And of course, another thing I’m looking forward to seeing this year is the fashion.

The fashion at Coachella has always been a huge topic over the years. Everyone talks about it every year — from who was best or worst dressed to having necessary conversations about cultural appropriation. Fashion at this event has also changed a lot throughout the years, from flower crowns and denim shorts in 2013 to sheer dresses and cowboy boots in 2022. Coachella has truly evolved into a major fashion event.

Celeb style at Coachella has also become a huge fashion moment, too. I’ve always loved seeing what stars like Vanessa Hudgens or Rihanna would wear. I remember immediately saving their outfits to my Pinterest board for style inspiration. Coachella is the perfect way to find out all the latest trends!

So, if you’re going to Coachella this year and have no idea what to wear, here are 10 outfit ideas that will help you slay this festival in style.

Wear a mesh or crochet dress.

Mesh and crochet dresses have been a popular fashion trend lately. These dresses are usually worn with a bikini or swimsuit underneath, but you could also wear shorts or shorts with it if you want to feel more comfortable! I love this Crochet Knitted Open Back Mini Dress from Nasty Gal ($38) or this Mesh Cut Out Cover Up Dress from Cider ($16).

Try out a two-piece matching set.

Two-piece sets are one of the easiest ways to look effortlessly stylish. These outfits usually consist of a crop top and shorts or a skirt, and they make great festival looks. Try this Daisy Crochet Bralette Two Piece 3 Piece Set ($40) or this Stripe Crochet Ruched Front Two Piece Set Top ($22) with the matching Stripe Crochet Ruched Side Two Piece Set Skirt ($28), all from Nasty Gal.

Be bold with a sequined dress or jumpsuit.

If you truly want to stand out at Coachella, wearing bold sequins is the perfect way to do it! This is also becoming a popular festival trend, especially after Harry Styles’ sequined outfits from his Coachella performance last year. This Zig Zag Printed Sequin Jumpsuit ($60) or this Irridescent Sequin Bandeau And Tie Flare matching set ($84) from Nasty Gal will look so stylish.

Recreate the denim-on-denim trend.

The denim-on-denim trend is rising in popularity again and bringing us back to the early 2000s. Wearing a long denim skirt like this Denim Solid Split Midi Skirt from Cider ($24) paired with a Denim Corset Crop Top from Forever 21 ($25) or this Denim Crop Halter Top from Cider ($14) will be right on trend!

Accessorize with a cowboy hat and boots.

Since Coachella is in the desert in California, it’s only fitting that you wear a signature cowboy hat and boots with your look. I love this Rhinestone-Fringe Cowboy Hat from Forever 21 ($28) or this Diamante Trim Wide Brim Cowboy Hat from Nasty Gal ($35) along with these ASOS DESIGN Andi flat western boots in black ($66). You could also add a stylish bandana to complete your look while protecting you from the harsh desert dust.

Style a butterfly halter top.

Butterfly halter tops have been making a huge comeback these past few years, and fashion forecasters on TikTok say you’ll be seeing even more of them at Coachella. This Denim Halter Neck Butterfly Top from Nasty Gal ($22) or this Daisy Street Y2K strappy butterfly crop top in grunge sequins from ASOS ($61) will look so great!

Stand out by wearing fringe.

Wearing fringe in your Coachella look will give you all the boho vibes. There are so many ways that you can style fringe, from jackets to bodysuits. This Verdusa Women’s Fringe Trim Sleeveless Bodycon Halter Bodysuit Top from Amazon ($40) or this Fringe Faux Leather Western Jacket from Nasty Gal ($90) will look amazing paired with denim shorts.

Be bold with a pair of statement pants.

Statement pants have been all over everyone’s Coachella outfit ideas on TikTok. These Sequin Middle Waist Flared Trousers ($34) or Wave-Print Wide Leg Pants ($24) from Cider will definitely give your outfit a unique touch.

Style a slip dress with a vest.

Slip dresses are perfect to wear at Coachella, and pairing one with a stylish vest will elevate your look even more! I love this Luxe Easy Slip Dress from Parade ($25) or this UO Mallory Cowl Neck Slip Dress ($29) from Urban Outfitters. This Daisy Print Denim Vest ($25) or this Rhinestone-Fringe Cropped Denim Vest ($35), both from Forever 21, will look great over it, too.

Pair a leather jacket with a band tee for a grunge look.

Wearing a leather jacket with a band tee is one of the most popular go-to outfits at music festivals. This look will never go out of style, and it’s perfect for Coachella. Try out this Fringe Cropped Faux Leather Jacket from Wild Fable ($45) with this Contrast Sleeve Band Tee from Nasty Gal ($20), which will match perfectly. This would look great with a pair of Doc Martens and black high-waisted shorts to get the real ‘90s grunge vibe!
