The “I’m Cold” Makeup Trend Is Your New Go-To Look For Winter

If you’ve been on BeautyTok at all in the past month, you’ve probably seen the adorable new “I’m cold” makeup trend. It’s giving major Christmas rom-com, sugarplum fairy energy. And now that the colder months have arrived, we no longer have to worry about our makeup getting ruined on those chilly winter days — the cold will just enhance it.

I’ve never been very talented with makeup, especially after tweezing off both of my eyebrows in middle school (although pencil eyebrows are making a comeback, maybe I was onto something). My brows never truly recovered, and I’ve sworn off complicated makeup trends ever since. Luckily, the “I’m cold” makeup trend is very simple and great for beginners, and me, too.

The #imcoldmakeup trend has already garnered 15.9 million views so far on TikTok, and it’s continuing to grow every day. The look was originally created by @zoekimkenealy, who also created the “crying makeup” look and the viral rockstar beauty trend. She is really carrying BeautyTok this year.

How Do I Get the “I’m Cold” Makeup Look?

As beautiful as the glowy skin look is, we’re taking it back to the days of classic matte finishes. Using your favorite foundation, concealer, and powder products, create a smooth matte base that you can easily build on.

With a brush, apply both an orange and pink blush to your cheeks, nose, and cupid’s bow. Make sure you blend these two colors together with a light hand for that perfect, winter-kissed look. Add a setting powder right over top to blend it out, and you’re left with a beautiful, warm glow. For the eyes, we’re keeping it simple and going for a very soft and neutral look. Just a subtle warm-toned shadow (or the same blush you used) is perfect. This look is all yours, so the mascara and lashes are up to you.

For the brows, stick to a simple pencil and brush them through. It doesn’t have to be super elaborate, the main event for this look is the blush after all. The highlighter doesn’t have to be crazy either, a little bit in the inner corner of your eyes and a tiny bit on the tip of your nose goes a long way.

Finally, just go in with your favorite red or orange-tinted lip product — gloss, lip balm, lipstick, or anything to compliment the blush. You’re going to look amazing, and cold, bestie!
