If couldn’t attend Coachella Weekend 1 this year but love to stay home and judge everyone’s Coachella outfits, same here. The festival kicked off on April 11, and included amazing headliners like Lady Gaga, Post Malone, Travis Scott, and Charli XCX. To fans’ luck, surprise guests like Troye Sivan and Billie Eilish also performed.
Even though Coachella is known for the incredible music, fashion is a very close second. The festival has been taking place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California every year since it started in 1999, and has basically become a celebrity fashion event ever since. Celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens, Gigi Hadid, and Alessandra Ambrosio have gone down in history for their chic boho Coachella looks, which were primarily worn in the early 2010s.
Coachella fashion has evolved over the years, and recently, minimalism at Coachella has become a trend, too. As fashion makes way for new streetwear trends, I’ve gathered some of this year’s best Coachella looks that embody the festival’s vibrant and creative spirit.
Tyla & Becky G
During Coachella Weekend 1, Tyla performed at her first ever Coachella in full Y2K style, and brought Becky G as a surprise guest. Tyla performed in Dolce & Gabbana archival pieces, including a sparkly mesh triangle top and a mini belt skirt. Becky G followed Tyla’s lead, pairing an embroidered yellow halter top with a matching mini skirt and fun animal print boots.
Jennie
Jennie was definitely one of the best dressed at Coachella this year. The star took the stage in a full western look, including a crocodile leather jacket, a matching crop top, and micro-shorts with suede boots.
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga brought gothic glamour to her 110-minute Coachella performance this year, which included five acts as well as references from her past music videos, including “Bad Romance.” The artist wore a gorgeous custom Dilara Findikoglu look as she sang her new song, “Perfect Celebrity.”
Madeline White
As for the best-dressed influencers this year, Madeline White received all the praise on social media for her stunning flower look that screams festival season. It was reminiscent of the 2016 Coachella aesthetic we all miss.
Lily Rowland
Lily Rowland’s Day 1 Coachella outfit was also a throwback moment that embodied boho chic to the next level. The model and influencer opted for a matching set with a bikini top underneath, and a mix of boho-inspired gold and silver accessories.
