The 9 Best-Dressed Power Couples at the 2016 Golden Globes

The 73rd Golden Globes, hosted by Ricky Gervais, premiered Sunday night. In its 50-year history, the show has highlighted advancements made in the film industry—and those who walk the red carpet also highlight what's hot in fashion. Our favorite celebs appear in the very best trends of the decade. This year was as fun as ever, of course, with interesting looks to gawk over, as demonstrated by the power couples of the year.

Take a look below at the best-dressed power couples at the 2016 Golden Globes:

1. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum

This power duo is the BEST. Appearing together on Lip Sync Battle earlier this month, they were absolutely adorable competing with one another, but clearly work best as a team (they both went home as champs). Although, we have a couple questions about his hair (don't worry, it's for an upcoming film role), we do indeed still love him. Wait, we love both of them. There's no question about that.

2. Denzel Washington and Pauletta Washington

Denzel Washington, who was awarded the Cecil B. DeMille award at the Globes over the weekend, looked sharp as he and his family walked the red carpet—and again when they hit the stage to accept the award. He and his wife, Pauletta, are obvious #RelationshipGoals—glasses or not, she's clearly a huge source of support for him.

3. Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney

Although the two look to be opposites (she wild, he relaxed), they are very similar in personality, according to Lady Gaga in an interview with Ellen in 2013. The two lovebirds met on the set of the singer’s music video for her single “You and I” in 2009 and the two have been inseparable ever since that first encounter, getting engaged in February 2015. From doing crazy things like making love on a canvas with paint to raise awareness for charity in V Magazine, we knew their love had to be powerful and eternal. Last night, the singer-turned-actress was nominated (and won!) for her role as the fantastical, vampire-like, The Countess in American Horror Story: Hotel. The pair looked gorgeous together, with Lady Gaga resembling Old Hollywood with matching voluminous, wavy blonde hair and a demure black gown that gave her body an attractive silhouette.

4. Hannah Bagshawe and Eddie Redmayne

These two have been supporting each other through the award show circuit for two years in a row, as Eddie has recently appeared in films that have been nominated for several awards, and one for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor in The Theory of Everything last year. There are at least two things we know the couple are looking forward to: The Academy Awards (will Eddie win Best Actor?) and the arrival of their first child together. Even if the British actor doesn’t win for his role in The Danish Girl, we have a feeling the rest of 2016 will be a good one for the pair with the arrival of their little one.

5. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith

This pair has been attending awards shows for many years (as both are insanely talented), and each time they bring something different to the red carpet. This time around, Will was nominated for his role as real-life doctor, Dr. Bennet Omalu, who discovered the effects of brain damage faced by professional football players in Concussion

6. Melissa Benoist and Blake Jenner

These two, who just recently got engaged, met on the set of the show Glee! Although they may be newcomers to the award show season scene, they both looked like naturals. Melissa was there to support her CBS show Supergirl, in which she plays the dynamic superheroine.

7. Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart

Seasoned vets of awards season, Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart were in attendance at the Golden Globes last night. Harrison was there supporting his latest film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, of course. As always, the couple looked classy and glamorous, especially when locked arm-in-arm.

8. Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis

This time last year, Olivia was very much pregnant—six months pregnant, to be exact—but this time around, the pair came to the Golden Globes sans baby Otis, leaving the little guy at home. Olivia was there to present an award and looked gorgeous as ever in a glossy red dress, appropriately accented with a matching gold and red necklace and a gold clutch. Meanwhile, Jason kept it effortlessly cool with a pair of Jordans.

9. Kirsten Dunst and Garrett Hedlund

These two have been seen together on numerous occasions, as they met on the set of the film On the Road, and last night they looked absolutely wonderful together. Kirsten stunned in a plunging black gown and Garrett looked very dapper and Bond-esque in a matching tuxedo. Kirsten was nominated for her role in the television show, Fargo, which was inspired by the feature film of the same name, and Garrett was there to support.
