TV Shows with Supernatural Elements

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at York U chapter.

Some of my favourite TV shows to watch have a supernatural element to them because the options for storylines are almost infinite. From vampires, to demons and angels, these TV shows have everything you could ever imagine.

Supernatural

Via IMDb

This show has been airing on TV since 2005 and they still have interesting storylines and characters to this day. It’s a show about two brothers who hunt supernatural beings like werewolves, demons, and your occasional pagan god. They have some really crazy episodes and some hilarious ones too. It’s worth a watch if you want to have a nice long Netflix binge watching session.

Lucifer

Via IMDb

I’ve recently gotten quite obsessed with this show. The main character is Lucifer, as in the devil, played by the very handsome Tom Ellis. He teams up with a Los Angeles detective called Chloe Decker to help her solve cases. The characters and storylines in this show will have you hooked in no time!

Teen Wolf

One thing I love about this show are the myths from different cultures that some of the storylines are wrapped around. The first season is mostly based on Scott McCall as he turns into a werewolf but other seasons involve banshees, kitsunes’ (from Japanese mythology) and werewolf hunters. My favourite character has to be Stiles who’s played by Dylan O’Brien because of his hilarious and sarcastic lines.

The Originals

Via IMDb

Were you a fan of The Vampire Diaries? Because The Originals is a VD spinoff. Frankly, it’s a way better show than The Vampire Diaries. It stars Joseph Morgan as Klaus Mikaelson, one of the original vampires who decided to move back to New Orleans and take back his city. Filled with witches and werewolves, this show has some very interesting and well-written characters. Sadly, the show will end on its fifth season when it airs this year.

So now you have a few new shows to binge watch over the strike, or whenever you have some free time!
