T.V. Shows to Binge Watch Over Winter Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at York U chapter.

Winter break is finally here, which means it’s time to sit down, relax and binge watch some great TV shows. Here are five of my favourite shows to binge watch.

The Chicago Series

Source: IMDb

Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D and Chicago Med, are a trio of action-packed, fun and fast-paced shows that interconnect throughout their respective seasons. You’ll love the characters because they’re well-written and have great chemistry together. You can watch them in chronological order (Fire, P.D., then Med) or start with whichever one you prefer. I guarantee that you won’t get bored while watching this series because there’s never a dull moment in their Chicago.

The Royals

Source: IMDb

This show is filled with love triangles, power grabs, scandals, murder, and it all centers around a fictional British royal family. There are currently three seasons of total drama and the fourth one will be airing on television soon. The Royals is centered around Princess Eleanor, Prince Liam, Queen Helena and some of their other relatives along with Eleanor’s attractive bodyguard Jasper. I promise you, this show will keep you hooked and wanting more.

Grey’s Anatomy

Grey’s is one of my all-time favourite shows and the one show I’ve re-watched more than three times. The medical problems that the doctors have to treat are always interesting and the interpersonal relationships on the show are solid, dramatic and will keep you curious. Even though there are many character deaths throughout the seasons, Shonda Rhimes (the show’s creator) breaks your heart but always manages to make you feel happy again. With its insane number of seasons, it’s a great show to binge watch over the holidays.

Shameless (U.S)

Source: IMDb

This crazy show is focused on the lives of the Gallagher family and their alcoholic absentee father. These children live in less than fortunate circumstances and go through a lot to survive. But, it’s a comedy-drama, so you’ll definitely have some laughs while watching.

Jane the Virgin

Gina Rodriguez plays a lovable and passionate character who goes through an unbelievable situation. It’s a show that has love, comedy, and crime. Written like a classic telenovela, Jane the Virgin is like no other show on television and it will get you emotionally involved.

I hope you have fun watching these shows and relaxing during your well-deserved winter break!
