“Year of Yes: How to Dance It Out, Stand In the Sun and Be Your Own Person” is the best book I’ve read in 2016…so far. It’s by the Queen of ShondaLand, the Creative Genius behind Cristina Yang and Olivia Pope, the TGIT Weeknight Television Maven…Shonda Rhimes.
As an introvert, I was surprised to find myself relating to Shonda Rhimes, who is also an introvert. This book however, offers advice for any and every woman. “Year of Yes” chronicles Shonda Rhimes experiment to “saying yes” for over a year after her sister pointed out, “you never say yes to anything.” Say yes to the things you are afraid to do. Say yes to what you want and putting yourself first. Say yes to new opportunities. Say yes to taking care of yourself.
This book is inspiring, engaging and hilarious. Shonda’s sass, wisdom, and humor will definitely have you wanting to start your own “Year of Yes.” Here are 6 quotes that resonated with me, and quotes that I hope inspire you this month!
