Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Royal Wedding Updates

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at York U chapter.

The newly engaged couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have confirmed that Saturday, May 19th will be their wedding date. The wedding will take place at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The palace said the wedding will “reflect [the couple’s] character and personalities as fun and [joyous].” After the ceremony, the royal couple will ride the traditional carriage through Windsor Town.

So what goes down before the wedding?

Engagement. Check.

Markle’s baptism. Check.

Markle was baptized on March 6th in the Chapel Royal at St. James Palace accompanied my close family and friends.

A bridal shower to celebrate her big day.

Dress shopping.

The designer’s name is yet to be announced but a source close to Meghan told Look Magazine that “the wedding dress has been the biggest expense, and the budget has now doubled from what it originally was.” OMG, doubled! This dress is going to be amazing!

Who is invited to the wedding? Markle and Prince Harry have invited 2,640 people to their royal wedding. The majority of those invited will be members of the public. The palace said in a statement that “The couple has asked that the people chosen are from a broad range of background[s] and ages, including young people who have shown strong leadership, and those who have served their communities.” We are so excited (like Harry in this GIF) to see what this royal wedding has in store!
