Clutch Prep: An International Student Aid

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at York U chapter.

Over the course of the school year, we often find ourselves searching online for test help, practice questions or any other aids to help make studying easier. Clutch Prep is a student aid service that has provided students all over North America with the tools to succeed in school. Her Campus sits down with Cristy Lopez, Director of People Operations at Clutch Prep, to get to know Clutch Prep a little bit more and how us students can begin taking advantage of this aid.

What is Clutch Prep?

Clutch prep is an ed-tech startup based in Miami, FL founded with the main purpose of helping students succeed in their classes. It started in 2010 as a local tutoring service for Florida International University students and later grew into a nationwide service in order to help students all across the U.S. and Canada. (fun fact: although we don’t actively market to other countries, we have supported students in over 90 countries and counting!). You can view more about us here.

Who is Clutch Prep for?

Clutch Prep is for any student trying to understand what’s being taught in science classes. Our primary market is pre-med students. However, we support any student taking: Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Calculus, Statistics, Anatomy & Physiology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Accounting, and Analytical Chemistry. You can view all of our subjects here.

How can we use it? Are there fees? Is it user-friendly?

We run a subscription-based service with different payment options: monthly, quarterly and yearly. We also give the option of choosing between a single subject or multi-subject for each duration. We try and actively work on making our user interface navigation as friendly as possible, while also incorporating creative ways to learn and keep track of your progress throughout a class.

Can Clutch Prep help with test taking?

Absolutely! We actively create practice tests for students to test their knowledge before their test and get familiar with questions similar to the ones they’ll see on their exam. Since students can upload their syllabus, we are able to create a tailored test with the topics that you’ll see on the exam. We even send students a reminder of their upcoming tests :)

Are the practice problems specific to the overall subject or per topic?

Our practice problems are specific to each topic and with the help of our users, we’ve managed to collect thousands of homework and practice test questions so that each student has content that’s relevant to their specific professor.

Is Clutch Prep available to all university students?

Yes, if a university is listed on our website, we support it. If it’s not, we can add it. You can view all the schools we support here.

Will you be adding more courses?

We are always working on adding new science courses to our list. Next on our list is Biochemistry.

Is Clutch Prep affiliated with any schools?

We are not currently endorsed by or affiliated with any university or college.

How do we contact Clutch Prep?

You can email us at help@clutchprep.com or once you make an account, you’ll have access to chat with our support team.

What sets Clutch Prep apart from other platforms that provide similar resources to aiding in student schoolwork?

One of our goals is to create a tailored experience that goes along the user’s textbook, this is something we’ve put a lot of effort into and sets us apart from other resources, and by having access to the syllabus, we can combine these two and make Clutch Prep the best resource to complement the school learning process.

Is Clutch Prep something that has caught your eye? Head on over to their website and get your subscription started today – your future will thank you.
