This past winter break was great. I spent a lot of quality time reconnecting with my old friends and my family, I bought myself a ukulele and have been learning a few songs, and I basically just got to spend some time away from stress. However, it got pretty boring after the second week, especially because I had WAAY too much free time to just lounge and binge watch Netflix. This is why I am part of the slight minority of college kids who is excited to come back for the winter semester. Here’s a few reasons why.

1.) New schedule of classes!

I have always been obsessed with schedules – memorizing them, creating them – you name it. And now that the winter break is back, I get to memorize and fall in love with an all new set of classes. It may not be exciting to some people, but to me this is one of my favorite parts about the school year.

2.) Reconnecting with your school friends again

I love the friends I have made in high school. They mean so much to me, and have influenced me to the best that me that I can be. (#cheeseyalert) However, spending what was almost an entire month without seeing some of the best friends that I have made in college? That was hard to do. (Granted, we did Skype each other, but that’s beside the point.) Coming back means you get to reconnect with your college friends and make even more adventures than you did before!

3.) Going back to be an “adult”

I’ve always loved the challenge of trying to face the reality of living on my own, without my parents helping me out every single day. Now that I’m back to living in my dorm room, I can do that (and possibly fail).

Yes, winter break was fun, but I am determined to make this Spring semester something great, and you should too!
