West Virginia Festivals

While West Virginia is fun during the Winter with skiing, snowboarding, and snow days, Spring and Summer in the mountain state bring even more fun and adventure. Looking for something to do this Spring/ Summer? We’ve rounded up a few of the exciting festivals taking place in the coming months that are sure to provide you with great food, entertainment, and memories.

 

1. West Virginia Strawberry Festival

Date: May 13th-27th

Location: Buckhannon, WV

With three parades, live entertainment every night, a carnival, photography exhibits, a craft show, fireworks, great food, and more the West Virginia Strawberry Festival has a little something for everyone. Rather you are enjoying some homemade strawberry shortcake or dancing on Main Street to the live music, you will not be disappointed. The Strawberry Festival Grand Feature Parade brings in bands from all over the state and even some from around the world.

2. 2017 Mountain Music Festival

Date: June 1st-3rd

Location: New River Gorge, WV

Who doesn’t love good music? The 2017 Mountain Music Festival features over 25 unique bands as well as a variety of other activities to keep you busy. Located on the New River Gorge, the festival offers white water rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, paddle boarding, mud racing, and more. This festival also offers picturesque views of the iconic New River Gorge Bridge. This is one you will not want to miss!

3. Wanderlust 2017

Date: June 9th-11th

Location: Snowshoe, WV

4. Lewis County Fair

Date: July 12th-15th

Location: Lewis, WV

The Lewis County Fair has a lot to offer! Enjoy music, car shows, animal shows, a demolition derby, exhibits, a carnival, and more. Grab some friends and some cotton candy and enjoy a day (or night) of fair fun.

5. The Upper Ohio Valley Italian Heritage Festival

Date: July 22nd-24th

Location: Wheeling, WV

You don’t have to be Italian to enjoy this festival. Bringing in over 150,000 visitors each year, The Upper Ohio Valley Italian Heritage Festival offers food, fun, and entertainment for all ages and nationalities. Immerse yourself in the Italian culture and heritage through food, music, and more. If you’re lucky, you might even catch one of the wine and sauce-making demonstrations. Food and wine? We’re in!
