HC WVU ’18-’19: Meet Your Vice President, Victoria Price

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WVU chapter.

HC: Introduce yourself!

VP: My name is Victoria Price and I’m from Parkersburg, West Virginia, about two hours from Morgantown. I’m a sophomore strategic communications major here at WVU, with an emphasis in public relations. I grew up doing gymnastics and then played volleyball, but towards the end of high school I started getting into weight training and going to the gym. Now I’m really into fitness, so I like to spend my free time at the gym. When I’m not at the gym, you’ll find me laying on my couch watching Netflix!

HC: To get to know you, what is your favorite… TV show, movie, food?

VP: I always hate the “what’s your favorite…” questions. I literally have so many. Right now, my favorite TV show is Shameless; I think it’s hilarious. My all-time favorite is probably Vampire Diaries. I cannot get enough of that show and I’m so sad that it’s over. Oh, and Keeping Up With the Kardashians! I’m sorry, but I love them and I can’t help it. I don’t watch a whole lot of movies, but one of my favorites is Footloose (I know, so random but I love it). My favorite food is coffee (not a food, but I think I could literally survive solely on coffee for the rest of my life).

HC: What are you involved in at WVU?

VP: Right now, I am only involved in Her Campus. I think that the Her Campus chapter at WVU is growing and I really want to focus on helping the chapter grow even more. So, for right now, that’s what I’m doing.

HC: How did you first get involved with Her Campus?

VP: I first got involved with Her Campus when I was a freshman (last year). I went to the “Get Involved” event through the Reed College of Media, and the organization really stuck out to me. I loved the idea of being able to write about whatever your heart desired.

HC: Can you talk about your role as VP, and what direction you’re taking this group in?

VP: As VP for the WVU Her Campus chapter, I help with providing feedback for everyone’s articles. I also help with planning meetings and events. I basically just help our president in any way that I can to make sure that everything runs smoothly. Like I said, I think this organization is growing and I’m so excited to see where we are at the end of the year. I want to see all the girls on our team come back next year because they loved it so much. This year we’re working on incentives and prizes for writing and we plan on meeting more often as a group, which not only benefits the chapter, but also helps everyone meet new, amazing girls and hopefully make new friends!! That’s what I really want to see.

HC: What are your future career goals and aspirations?

VP: My career goals are kind of broad right now. After getting my bachelor’s degree in strat comm, I want to go to law school. I’m not sure what kind of law I want to pursue, but law school has been something I’ve wanted to do for a few years now. Something else that I’ve thought about is doing PR work for a beauty or fashion company, but for right now I’m kind of just seeing where the wind takes me.

HC: Who are some of your role models?

I truly think my biggest role model in my life is my mom. She’s a single mother who has worked her butt off raising me and I truly admire her dedication to working hard for what you want. She pushes me everyday to pursue my goals and be what I want to be in life. She will forever be my biggest inspiration.

HC: Is there anything else you want readers to know?

Just that I’m super pumped for the future of WVU’s Her Campus chapter and I encourage y’all to join! Even if Her Campus isn’t something you’d be super interested in, I encourage you to do something, anything! Get involved!! Getting involved is so important in this career path and if I have one piece of advice that’s it!
