Welcome to a new blog called Fabulous Fitness Finds! Each month you’ll discover a new fitness find taking the country by storm! Gyms and recreation centers across the country are restyling their brands by adding a wider range of strength, flexibility and muscular endurance fitness classes. Additionally, fitness professionals are continuing to inventing new fusion classes that keep their audiences having fun, seeing personal improvements, and of course feeling fit. This month’s fabulous fitness find is one of the number one strength training programs of this year, bodyweight training.
What is bodyweight training?
In bodyweight training, the participant’s own weight provides the resistance for the movement. Common movements included are push-ups, pull-ups, squats, dips, and sit-ups. Some of the benefits of bodyweight training are that it is versatile and it can be practiced almost anywhere.
What fitness classes incorporate bodyweight training?
TRX Suspension, H.I.T.T. and Bootcamp style fitness classes usually include bodyweight training. Bodyweight training is a form of resistance training that has been practiced forever, but has become popular after it was refashioned with a modern appeal.
What are some of the benefits of Bodyweight Training?
1. It’s efficient: there is little to no equipment and most exercises can be practiced anywhere.
2. It’s universal: everyone can do these exercises since they come with helpful modifications.
3. It’s inexpensive!
