A few months ago I purchased my first Fitbit. I heard the hype about Fitbits from multiple people but finally decided to see what it was all about. There are many reasons why I love the Fitbit Alta.

Fitbit gives the Alta the slogan “fitness and fashion on display.” The Alta is a unique band that comes in a variety of colors. In my opinion, the best feature of the Alta is the sleek look that makes the Alta perfect for walking or class or a fun night out.

The Fitbit Alta tracks steps while also tracking distance, calories, active minutes, hourly activity and stationary time. It is helpful to get a grasp on how long you’ve been sitting or actively burning calories.

A feature I love is the reminder to get up and move around. Sometimes when you’re stuck working on a paper at the library, you forget you’ve been sitting in the same spot for hours. The Alta reminds you to get up and walk.

Another useful feature is the smart track feature. The Alta instantaneously recognizes exercise when you start working out. Instead of using other fitness apps where you have to manually upload workout data, the Alta recognizes the increase in movement and keeps track of your workout.

Coming from someone who forgets to charge their phone a lot, the long battery life of the Alta is a life-saver. The Alta lasts up to five days on a full charge. It’s easy to forget to charge it because the Alta seems more like an accessory, so the long battery life makes a huge difference.

Lastly, I love the Fitbit Alta because it tracks my exercise, and I don’t even need a watch. With a customizable clock face that turns in a variety of directions, the Alta helps me stay fit and on time.

Fitbits are a great way to stay healthy and to keep track of activity. At an affordable price with great features, there are endless reasons why everyone should get a Fitbit!
