Relaxing Things to Get You Through the Rest of Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

Finals are almost over, but some of you ladies may be feeling overwhelmed and stressed. Let’s be real: who isn’t? So, here are some of the things I do to control my stress and calm myself down! I hope this helps, push through! Just a few more days!

Disney sing-a-long’s with your roommates/best friends

So, maybe Disney isn’t your thing, but it’s definitely mine and nothing takes away your stress like belting out “Under the Sea” from The Little Mermaid, or “Hakuna Matata” from The Lion King. My roommates love to just take five or ten minutes to take away our stress with the magic of Disney music, plus we get to pretend that we’re princesses, if only for a few minutes.

Chick Flicks

I love to end the day with my roommates and a classic rom-com, like How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days or 27 Dresses. Having all four of us pile up on the couch with some popcorn, hot chocolate, and pizza is a great way to calm down and stop stressing out!

Bubble Baths and Face Masks

One of my favorite things to do after a particularly hard final is put on a face mask and sit in my bathtub full of scented bubble bath. Some of my favorite calming scents are sweat pea, or eucalyptus and mint. I personally recommend treating yourself to a stay-in spa night during finals!

Go on a drive

Rock Hill is such a beautiful city, with lots of parks and cute little restaurants! Go on a drive alone, turn up your favorite playlist and maybe take a few minutes to sit in a park or grab a specialty coffee and a scone! Everyone needs time alone, especially when you’re stressed out!

Call your mom

This one sounds a little cheesy, but calling your mom, dad, grandma, or someone you’re close to can help! Simply hearing the comforting voice of someone you love can help calm your nerves.

Read that Y/A novel you’ve been dying to read

It may seem like you need to continue to cram, but sometimes reading something that’s unrelated to finals can ease your mind and let you relax!

You’ve got this, Collegiettes! Let’s relax while staying in control of our studies!
