Top 15 Breakup Songs for When You Need a Little Cheering Up

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winona chapter.

We’ve all been through breakups or heartache of some kind, and one of the best ways I have found to feel better is to have a little jam sesh. Whether it be in your car, in your shower, or just in your bedroom, turning on some music and dancing around can help in many ways. These songs are a rollercoaster of empowerment and empathetic sad songs to help you through coping and moving on. Here are some of my go-to songs for when I am feeling especially blue and bitter about relationships, so turn up the music and sing your heart out!

1. “Missed,” by Ella Henderson

2. “River of Tears,” by Alessia Cara

3. “Better,” by Meghan Trainor

4. “New Rules,” by Dua Lipa

5. “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” by Taylor Swift

6. “Someone Like You,” by Adele

7. “Mama’s Broken Heart,” by Miranda Lambert
