Summer 2017 Movies

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winona chapter.

Summer is near and I cannot wait to see some of the movies that are going to be premiering. Here are six movies you won’t want to miss this summer!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (PG-13): May 5

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues when the team’s adventures lead them to unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage.

I just love the humor Marvel brings to its movies. The funny one-liners are the best.

Snatched (NR): May 12

After her boyfriend dumps her before their vacation, she (Amy Schumer) persuades her very cautious mother to travel with her but they face unexpected results.

I’ll admit, I mainly want to see this movie because of Amy Schumer.

Baywatch (R): May 25

Devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchanan (Dwayne Johnson) butts heads with a brash new recruit (Zac Efron). Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.

Shirtless Zac Efron. Enough said.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (PG-13): May 26

Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) searches for the trident of Poseidon.

I mean, it’s Captain Jack Sparrow!

Transformers: The Last Knight (PG-13): June 23

Humans and Transformers are at war, and Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving the human race lies in the buried secrets of the past.

Action and things blowing up, what more could you want? Plus, everyone is a fan of Bumblebee from the first Transformers movie!

Despicable Me 3 (PG): June 30

Gru meets his twin brother Dru.

I might not be the target audience, but those Minions are just so adorable!

Spider-Man: Homecoming (Not Yet Rated): July 7

Following Captain America: Civil War, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) tries to balance high school and being Spider-Man.

I love the Marvel movies and am a huge Iron Man fan. So I, for one, cannot wait until July 7.
