In just a few months, we’ll be welcoming hot temperatures, bright sunshine and long, relaxing days. Not only does this mean summer is finally here, but it also brings the perfect opportunity to unwind and have fun. Here are a few of the things I look forward to this summer!
Traveling
Traveling is easily at the top of my list this summer. There’s something exciting about visiting new places, trying different foods and learning about various cultures. I also like wearing nice outfits when I visit new places, as it adds to the experience and makes me feel good while traveling. I love to explore what the world has to offer, and summer feels like the perfect time to do just that.
Ice Cream
Summer and ice cream go hand in hand, especially on scorching hot days. My go-to flavour is vanilla, but I’m always open to trying something new depending on my mood. Places like Dairy Queen and Baskin Robbins are always good options, along with local spots around town. Last summer, I tried ice cream from Kawartha, and the scoops are huge! I ordered two scoops too, so I had no idea they would be that huge. Either way, ice cream is one of those simple summer pleasures that just hits different.
Shopping
I love shopping, so it’s definitely something I look forward to. While you can shop year-round, it’s different when you’re shopping for summer dresses, tops and shorts, things you just can’t fully enjoy when it’s cold out. Whether you’re feeling down, stressed or even in a good mood, shopping always adds a little boost to your day.
Beaches and Barbeques
Since I love swimming and eating good food, summer is the perfect season for both beaches and barbeques. On a hot day, there’s nothing better than cooling off in the water. Winters feel long, and summers are short, so it’s important to make the most of it, whether that’s relaxing on the beach, getting a tan, or playing beach volleyball.
Barbeques are also enjoyable, especially if you love food. Burgers, corn, kebabs, chicken skewers, hot dogs and more, everything tastes better on the grill. When you’re surrounded by family and friends, it makes the experience even more special.
As the weather gets warmer and the sun begins to shine more, it’s clear that summer is right around the corner. Take the time to enjoy everything this season has to offer and most importantly, make lasting memories out of it too.
