Everyone knows One Direction. Even if you’re not a fan of them, you’re bound to know some of their music. The band has been topping the charts with their catchy music for the past ten years. I love One Direction and have always been obsessed with their music. Throughout my years of listening to 1D, I’ve been able to slowly, but surely, rank and pick out my favorite songs and albums of theirs. So, without further ado, here is my list of the best One Direction albums (from my least favourite to absolute best).

Up All Night

I had to put Up All Night at the bottom of the list because most of the songs are pretty similar and cliché. One Direction’s first album was pretty basic and since they were just starting off, they didn’t really have a sound yet. With all that being said, I still love some of the songs off of this album like “What Makes You Beautiful” (iconic) and “Taken”(a slow jam). “I Want” is also another bop that came from Up All Night that I will always love. Out of ten, I’d give this album a solid score of six because it’s got some great music, but from my perspective, it could have been a little more diverse.

Take Me Home

In fourth place, I have Take Me Home. One Direction’s second studio album does have some bops like “Last First Kiss” and “Rock Me”, but overall, I think some of their other albums have a better mix of songs. Although I put Take Me Home near the bottom of the list, I still love most of the songs and get nostalgic when listening to them. This album reminds me of driving around in high school with my sister and best friend, blasting music in the car. Out of ten, Take Me Home gets a score of seven.

Made in the AM

Coming in third place, we have Made in the AM. Being the one and only One Direction album without Zayn, it’s quite different from the rest. Made in the AM was also the last album that 1D released before they went on their hiatus (who knows what will happen with that). I love most of the songs on this album because they’re all so unique and you can definitely tell that One Direction finally found their sound. Some favourites from this album include “If I Could Fly” and “Infinity”, and some of my least favourites include “Never Enough” and “I Want to Write You A Song” (I know that this one is a fan favourite and I just want to apologize in advance!). Made in the AM gets a score of seven and a half on my scale.

Midnight Memories

Second best is Midnight Memories. This album holds a special place in my heart, solely because of Zayn’s high note in “You & I”. I’m OBSESSED with most of the songs on this album and only dislike two songs, “Little Black Dress” and “Does He Know?”. Other than that, I love Midnight Memories with a passion. It brings back the best memories from when I first discovered it and fell in love. Out of ten, Midnight Memories is a solid nine.

FOUR

FOUR is, by far, one of my absolute favourite albums ever. In my opinion, there isn’t one song to skip. All of the songs are amazing, from the upbeat ones like “Stockholm Syndrome” and “No Control”, to beautifully written songs like “Night Changes” and “Fools Gold”. FOUR is just one of those albums that you can play when you just want to listen to some catchy and wholesome music. FOUR gets a score of eleven out of ten because of how perfect it is!

All in all, this list was almost impossible to make. I love One Direction so much that it felt so wrong putting some of these albums where I put them. At the end of the day (see what I did there), One Direction will always be one of the most iconic boybands of my childhood. Here’s to hoping they come back from their hiatus sometime soon!
