You know that cliche “when words fail, music speaks”? That’s true for more than love and breakups! If you’re feeling down on yourself, here are some of the songs that are on my playlist to give me confidence, even when I feel really low.

Thunder – Imagine Dragons

To remind you that you’ll be looking back on this period of your life someday.

Brave – Sara Bareilles

To remind you that words have power, and you should never keep yours to yourself.

Anything – Hedley

To remind you that you can do anything, no matter what anyone else says to you.

Verge – Owl City

To remind you that there is a world of possibilities still ahead of you. No matter what is going through your head right now, it’s not the end.

BO$$ – Fifth Harmony

To remind you that you’re in charge. All of Fifth Harmony’s songs are honestly bops, but this one makes you demand respect.

Try Anything – Shakira

To remind you that it’s okay — natural — to fail, and that shouldn’t stop you from doing anything you want to try.

Work Bitch – Britney Spears

To remind you that nothing good in life comes easy. It’s got some low-key problematic 2013 ideals, but if you can get past that, it’s seriously empowering.

Sorry Not Sorry – Demi Lovato

To remind you to stick it to your haters. Show them what they’re missing without you.

I Lived – One Republic

To remind you that none of this will matter in the end, so live your life while you can. Take a good motivational cry, get on your feet and go live your life for you. You deserve it.

Renegades – X Ambassadors

To remind you that sometimes you need to be a little wild and a little risky to get what you want, and there’s no need to be afraid.

Rise Up – Imagine Dragons

To remind you that fear should never control you — it’s never too late to set a new goal or to dream a new dream.
