Do you remember when we were young and we were forced to take naps in kindergarten? Why do we not get those naps now? Instead, we get loads upon loads of work to do which leaves us with a small amount of sleep and a high amount of anxiety.

You know what would fix this? Naps! But not everyone has time for that. I hear all the time that college students wake up for 8 am classes and aren’t back to their room until 10 at night. This is crazy! So when are college students supposed to have time to relax? Or to even be a person that isn’t a student?

I think it’s best for us to take time out of our day to have some downtime. Even if you can’t nap, it’s still a good idea just to lay in your bed and look at memes. Do anything that would give you some breathing room before you go rushing into academic work again. Even if this means finding a quiet spot in an academic building to just sit for a while, do it! It will help you, in the long run, to get some you time.

Personally, I like to just lay in my bed and meditate for a while; maybe read something that I enjoy. I’ve even perfected the ten-minute nap that seems to help calm any worries I’ve accumulated throughout the day.

When’s the last time you took a nap? Saw a really funny meme? What about sitting at the dock and just watching the sunset? Has it been too long? Go take time for yourself! Take that half-hour nap; you need it, boo!

Always remember that you should put your needs and comforts first. Take care of yourself responsibly before you find yourself stretched too thin. And remember, find the time to nap!
