You are an amazing person. You are one of a kind.

Do you know how unique you are? There’s only one of you in this world.

No duplicates or different versions. Even if you are a twin or triplet or quintuplet. You are different. You are: You. The way you talk. The way you write. The way you move. The way you laugh. The way you smile – It’s all unique to you. There’s no one else in the universe that can be you. We may be living in a world where unrealistic standards are pushed on us, which can sometimes make us feel trapped. Some may be:

You need have a 4.0 GPA to be considered smart. Have no pimples or scars. Be thin, but be curvy and fit. Be tall; if you aren’t tall, wear heels. If you’re not dating anyone then you are a loner. If you don’t wear make-up then you are ugly.

But you know what? You aren’t clay. You can’t be shaped into a different person. You don’t have to be the person that society wants you to be. You can just be yourself. Joseph Campbell once said:

You only live one life. Why spend it trying to be someone else or conforming to what other people say you should be when you can be yourself and enjoy your life to the fullest? Wear those bright green skinny jeans if you want to! Sing your favourite song out loud! Wear that swimsuit proudly this summer! Listen to music that ignites the fire in you! Eat that cake! Eat those fries, too! Eat whatever you want! Whatever you want to do, you can do it! #YOLO

Be yourself, because you are an amazing person.
