Birthday parties can add some extra fun to your special day no matter what age you’re turning. Whether you want to embrace your dancing queen energy or enjoy a relaxing day with your besties, this article will have you covered! Here’s my top six ideas for the birthday party of your dreams.

Picnic Party

For a chill birthday, plan a picture-perfect picnic! Grab your best friends for a quick grocery-run for some fresh flowers, fruit, and mocktails. Find a shady spot and surround yourself with the best company!

Beach day

If you’re a summer baby, spend your birthday on the beach! All you’ll need is some beach chairs, bikinis, and your besties! Bring your favorite foods and drinks, and even enjoy the first sunset of your next year around the sun!

Skate date

If you’re a winter baby, consider celebrating your birthday on ice! Dress up all cozy and warm, and head to the nearest ice rink with all your favorite people. Pair your birthday cake with some much-needed hot chocolate!

Karaoke Queens

Sing to your heart’s desire with a karaoke party! Find a local karaoke bar and make a quick reservation. Many places will let you bring your own food, drinks, and decor, so you can really amp up the room to your liking! From solos to duets to pitch-perfect performances, everyone will have a chance to have some fun on your birthday! Plus, everyone loves a classic rendition of “Dancing Queen,” (even if you’ve passed 17).

Playing Dress up

If you’re feeling like treating yourself, have a glammed out night with your girlfriends! Have fun getting all dressed up together and taking cute pictures before heading into a fancy restaurant. Enjoy amazing food, the best kind of cake, and even better company as you cheers to your next year of life!

Boards Galore

For another laid-back birthday party, try out a charcuterie party! Have each of your friends bring a different type of charcuterie board and try out different flavors, cuisine, snacks, and drinks. From a classic cheese and salami board to a dessert board to a sushi one, there are a multitude of ideas for your board party! Try out a birthday cake board to get the best of every flavor, too!

Don’t forget to embrace your next stage of life and celebrate yourself with the party of your dreams this year!

Growing up in Honolulu, Hawaii, Koren spent most of her time outdoors, either at the beach or on a hike. Seattle proved to be a challenge for her with its constant cold and bustling city life. College transitions, new experiences, and friendship summarizes her section. Koren is pursuing a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Law, Societies & Justice, so Her Campus gives her a creative space to put her college experiences into words. When she is not in class, you can find her going on picnics with her friends, watching reality TV with her roommates, practicing yoga, or going on long walks around campus. She is beyond grateful that you are taking the time to check out her work and connect with this chapter!
