Meet Paula, a member of the social media team at Her Campus UW. Paula manages Her Campus UW’s Twitter. Her favorite way of engaging with followers is to use GIF. Whether it is a hump-day motivation, promoting fun articles, or welcoming spring, she proves it never goes wrong to use GIF!
Another fact about Paula is that she is a Human Centered Design and Engineering major minoring in Communication at UW. She is originally from Puerto Rico, but her hometown is in Gig Harbor in Washington. She is involved in many activities on campus. She is a board member on the Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) Advisory Board and currently hold two positions for Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority. In addition to that, she was also on the Programming Committee for the ASUW Elections Administration Committee.
Despite being a busy college student, she also loves to watch a lot of Netflix and read in her free time. She comments on how she loves being with her friends when watching Netflix, “Netflix and friends are great.” Although an avid reader, she does not like to multitask. The idea of one can read while walking seems abstruse; while she reads she prefers to center her attention to the book. She is also a synchronized swimmer!
What she loves about Her Campus UW is that the creative freedom that members were given, the idea that we can share our voice through writing articles. Even though she was not a member of the writing team, she loves that Her Campus encourages members to write for UW chapter. She also thinks the events that Her Campus UW always throws are fun, and she wishes to come to the events more frequently.
One of her idea she has for Her Campus is that she wishes that there is a way to interact with the writers at HC to engage more with the community.
